About This Program
A research-active, award-winning center led by a marine biologist, collaborating on scientific projects, seahorse research, community outreach, and continuous ocean conservation in the Azores.
Purpose Activities
Join the team for regular underwater cleanups and contribute to removing debris from local reefs and dive sites on every dive outing.
You participate as part of your fun or guided dive - all divers are invited to join at no extra cost.
How to Join:
Simply arrive at the center for your booked dive.
- Go to Best Spot Azores Dive Center at Marina Pêro de Teive.
- Check in for your dive trip and mention interest in the cleanup.
- You'll receive mesh bags and a briefing before departure.
Additional Offerings
Fun Diving
Guided daily boat trips to diverse local sites around São Miguel and special dives at seahorse and manta spots, with mesh bags supplied for voluntary cleanup.
Training Courses
SSI and PADI courses from beginner through Divemaster and specialty programs, learning with instructors recognized for their marine science background and conservation awards.
Accommodation
Partner apartments are available nearby for divers, arranged via recommended local providers.
