Purpose Activities

Take part in a guided snorkel and join marine biologists in collecting data on fish and sharks. You'll help spot, photograph, and identify small sharks and share findings for real population research.

Beginner; open to all ages able to snorkel; must be able to swim.
Required: Swimming ability
Equipment provided: Snorkel, Mask, Fins, Wetsuit

Book online to reserve your spot.

  1. Go to the Snorkel for Science booking page.
  2. Select your date and time slot (13:30-15:30).
  3. Complete the online registration and payment.
  4. Check your email or phone for meeting details.

Fun Diving

Dives and snorkel trips explore False Bay’s kelp forests and rocky reefs, often joined by marine biologists collecting research data.

Training Courses

Full SSI course range from introduction to pro level, with a major focus on conservation, research, scientific diving, and practical skills.

Accommodation

Self-catering accommodation is included for all major courses and volunteer programs, located near the Ocean Hub in Simon’s Town.
