About This Program

A marine biology-led Maldives liveaboard offering hands-on expeditions with coral scientists to monitor, study, and directly restore reef health.

Purpose Activities

Join a 7-night liveaboard expedition where you'll work side-by-side with marine biologists to conduct quantitative reef surveys, remove cushion starfish threatening local corals, and learn data analysis methods. Evening workshops on coral ecology and restoration techniques are included, along with daily diving and support for ongoing reef conservation efforts.

Advanced PADI divers with 70+ dives and strong buoyancy control; keen interest in marine conservation.
Required: Advanced Open Water certification
Required: Minimum 70 logged dives
Equipment provided: Tanks, Weights, Weight Belts, Accommodation, Meals, On-Board Marine Biologists

Up to 4 guided dives per day on the best reefs in Raa Atoll, with possible night dives and access to remote, healthy coral sites.

Training Courses

Workshops in marine ecology, coral survey techniques, and data analysis led by in-situ marine biologists; emphasis on practical conservation.

Accommodation

7 nights in comfortable liveaboard cabins aboard Carpe Vita, all meals and transfers included.
