Purpose Activities

Help collect seagrass flowers, participate in seed dispersal events, and assist with restoration in Pioneer Bay and adjacent meadows. Community volunteers directly contribute to habitat rehabilitation for wildlife such as turtles and dugongs.

Open to all community members and visitors; suitable for families and all ages.

Events may include a short talk about marine habitats or a thank-you BBQ. All needed materials are provided.

  2. Arrive at the specified collection point (e.g., Cannonvale Beach or marina pontoon) at the event start time.
  3. Look for the seagrass restoration team and sign in at the registration desk.

Additional Offerings

Fun Diving

No regular fun diving offered directly by Coral Sea Marina, but serves as the main launching hub for local dive boats heading to the Great Barrier Reef and Whitsunday Islands.

Training Courses

No in-house dive certification courses; the focus is on public marine science education, seminars, and citizen science workshops via the Coral Sea Academy.
