Purpose Activities

Interns join ongoing research with the CW Azores team, participate in whale and dolphin surveys, collect field data, and assist with guest education and outreach. Placement includes scientific learning and practical skills both on land and at sea.

University students in Biology, Marine Biology, Life/Natural Sciences, or Science of Tourism; fluent in English.
Required: Fluency in English
Required: Basic computer skills
Required: Teamwork ability
Required: Strong interest in marine biology
Required: Resilience to motion sickness (field positions)

Placements most suitable for current students or recent graduates. Traineeships are often arranged through academic programs like Erasmus+.
