A community-based center in Simon's Town integrating marine research and citizen science with professional SSI diving and hands-on conservation training.
Join real marine biologists for ongoing data collection projects, such as population monitoring and kelp forest health tracking. You can contribute actively during your regular dives, for example by collecting photo IDs of marine life or using simple data loggers for passive research.
Projects run in partnership with Cape RADD – you'll be part of real field science on your dives.
How to Join:
Book a citizen science dive at Impact Divers.
Guided dives in Simon's Town and False Bay, including kelp forests and shipwrecks, plus options to dive with data loggers or photo projects for marine research.
Full SSI course range, from beginner Open Water up to Instructor and Divemaster, with dedicated classroom, pool, and real conservation projects included.
No on-site accommodation; guests arrange stays locally in Simon's Town and walk or drive to the Ocean Hub dive center.
