About This Program

Veteran-owned and community-driven, Jade Scuba Adventures organizes monthly Dive Against Debris events in Long Beach, uniting divers and locals for Project AWARE reporting and real beach and underwater cleanups.

Purpose Activities

Volunteer cleanup day at Bayshore Beach where divers remove trash underwater and non-divers gather debris from the sand. Includes group training on safe collection methods and debris sorting and reporting for Project AWARE. Mesh bags are provided, and non-divers are welcome.

Open to certified divers for underwater cleanup and all ages (non-divers) for beach cleanup.
Required: Open Water certification (for diving)
Required: Ability to physically participate in a beach or dive cleanup
Equipment provided: Mesh Bags (For Dive Teams)

Events include group briefings, Q&A, sorting sessions, and reporting to Project AWARE. Mesh bags provided for dive teams.

How to Join:

Simply arrive at the location.

  1. Go to Bayshore Beach near the intersection of Division and Bayshore Ave by 7:00 AM for diver check-in or by 9:00 AM for beach cleanup.
  2. Approach the Jade Scuba Adventures team at their sign-in desk.
  3. Let them know you're here for the Dive Against Debris event and follow instructions for training or cleanup station.

Not a standard fun dive shop; diving is typically based around community debris cleanups at Long Beach, California, with mesh bags and Project AWARE reporting.

Training Courses

Courses include Dive Against Debris specialty and SDI tracks from beginner through instructor, with a focus on debris survey and adaptive diving, led by experienced instructors.
