About This Program

A locally-led team supports Musandam’s reefs through coral transplant projects, rapid underwater cleanups, and youth marine education.

Purpose Activities

Assist the local volunteer team in transplanting coral fragments to help create an artificial reef at the Humsi wreck dive site. Volunteers may help secure coral pieces, monitor new growth, or record basic data under staff guidance.

Certified divers able to assist with in-water tasks.
Required: Open Water certification
Equipment provided: Tanks, Weights, Basic Tools, Gloves

How to Join:

Simply arrive at the dive center and ask for conservation volunteering.

  1. Go to the Musandam Discovery Diving main desk.
  2. Arrive 30 minutes before the morning boat leaves.
  3. Ask to join the coral transplant or cleanup volunteering crew.

Daily boat trips explore Khasab’s dramatic fjord coast, with drift and wall dives at sites like Abu Rashid, plus opportunities for turtle and ray sightings.

Training Courses

Full SSI course range from entry-level to professional instructor, with local and international instructors and use of a training pool.
