Purpose Activities

Guests can help monitor reef health and marine life as part of national initiatives like Eye on the Reef, Reef Check, and Bleach Watch, contributing observations during their dive or snorkel experience.

All guests on Poseidon dive or snorkel trips interested in assisting with scientific data collection.

Exact tasks and programs may depend on season, reef site, and group interest. Ask crew onboard about current citizen science activities.

How to Join:

Simply arrive at the boat and speak to the crew.

  1. Go to the Poseidon Cruises vessel at Port Douglas Marina.
  2. Arrive at the check-in desk by the specified departure time.
  3. Let the crew know you're interested in participating in reef monitoring or research.
  4. Attend a pre-trip briefing on the activities for that day.

Fun Diving

Daily guided trips to over 35 sites around the remote Agincourt ribbon reefs, accessed by large custom-built dive catamaran.

Training Courses

Beginner and certified diver programs are offered, with eco-briefings and the opportunity for ongoing learning about reef conservation during activities.

Accommodation

No on-site accommodation; guests are recommended to arrange their own lodging in Port Douglas close to the marina.
