A hands-on research association conducting rigorous scientific reef monitoring and community-driven conservation around Île Sainte-Marie.
Participate alongside PRÎSM's science team in quarterly reef monitoring dives at five fixed research sites around Île Sainte-Marie, following Global Coral Reef Monitoring Network protocols. Volunteers assist with identification and data collection on fish species, benthos, and coral health, contributing directly to regional and global reef health reports.
Opportunities may include additional benthic photo/video transects and benthos surveys depending on skill and project phase.
How to Join:
Simply arrive at the dive center for the quarterly survey dates.
Scientific dives are conducted at established sentinel stations around Sainte-Marie, allowing experienced divers to visit seldom-dived research sites rich in natural marine life.
Opportunities exist for hands-on marine research training, with mentorship from practicing marine biologists beyond standard dive courses.
No dedicated accommodation is offered, but coordination with local partner dive centers such as Bora Dive and Research is possible for logistics and basic support.
