About This Program

Costa Rica's first PADI Eco Center and Green Fins member, Rich Coast Diving runs hands-on citizen science programs, monthly cleanups, and offers conservation-oriented pro-level dive training.

Purpose Activities

Join local divers and volunteers to remove underwater and coastal debris from Playas del Coco. All debris is logged for global research with Project AWARE. Separate beach cleanup option for non-divers.

Certified divers for underwater cleanup; all ages for beach cleanup.
Required: Open Water certification for ocean cleanup
Equipment provided: Tanks, Weights, Debris Collection Bags

Community partnership with Clean Wave organization.

How to Join:

Simply arrive at the dive shop for the event.

  1. Go to the dive shop main desk.
  2. Arrive 15 mins early on the cleanup day.
  3. Ask for the cleanup event coordinator.

Additional Offerings

Fun Diving

Daily boat dives to local Pacific coast sites, with trips to the Catalina Islands, Bat Islands, and seasonal bull shark or manta dives. Shore and night dives also available.

Training Courses

Full spectrum of PADI and SSI training, from beginner to pro, with specialties in marine life, conservation, and technical skills. Large on-site pool for skill practice and professional mentoring.

Accommodation

Intern apartments with pool and garden, plus option for private or shared rooms, all within walking distance to the dive center and beach.
