About This Program

A large dive operator with in-house marine biologists, multi-country coral nursery and restoration programs (notably Maldives and Cancun), actively running youth education, reef adoption, and hands-on coral planting with local and guest involvement.

Purpose Activities

Every Sunday, ScubaCaribe’s marine biologist hosts talks on coral restoration and marine life at the hotel. Participate in educational activities to learn about coral health and restoration. You can join fun quizzes, and winners are invited to a guided snorkeling experience to visit the coral nursery and restoration zones.

These events promote hands-on learning and connect travelers to reef recovery efforts.

How to Join:

Simply arrive at the Riu Atoll hotel activity area on Sunday.

  1. Go to the Riu Atoll Hotel lobby or dive center on Sunday.
  2. Arrive a few minutes early to get a seat for the talk.
  3. Ask for the 'Blue Reef Reforest' session or ScubaCaribe’s marine biologist.

Additional Offerings

Fun Diving

Daily dives from resort-based centers, with access to local reefs and house reefs in sites like the Maldives, Cancun, Dominican Republic, Cape Verde, and more. Trip options include coral nursery sites and educational routes if requested.

Training Courses

Full PADI course offering up to Divemaster and specialty courses (e.g., Coral Observation, Underwater Naturalist), with digital learning and on-site marine biologist support where available.

Accommodation

Diving is attached to RIU hotels and resorts; accommodation is typically on-site or within short walk from the dive operations, especially in the Maldives and all-inclusive resorts.
