About This Program

A long-established shop hosting recurring underwater cleanups and PADI conservation training, offering divers regular chances for hands-on impact in Vancouver’s cold water sites.

Purpose Activities

Join a two-dive shoreline cleanup removing trash from local Vancouver dive sites. Gear rental (except mask & snorkel) and lunch are available, and prizes are awarded as a thank you to volunteers.

Certified divers with PADI Advanced certification or higher, 15+ coldwater dives, last dive within 6 months.

Required: If renting drysuit: Drysuit Specialty or prior drysuit training
Equipment provided: Tanks, Weights, Transportation To Site, Lunch

Divers are organized into buddy teams with a pre-dive briefing. Drysuit or thick wetsuit required depending on the season.

How to Join:

Simply arrive at the dive shop before the event.

  1. Go to Vancouver Diving Locker at 2745 West 4th Ave.
  2. Arrive by 8:45 AM to check in and sort rentals if needed.
  3. Ask for the Underwater Clean Up group at the main desk.

Additional Offerings

Fun Diving

Weekly shore and boat trips to BC’s best local coldwater dive spots, including Howe Sound, Vancouver Island, and famous kelp forests. Groups are led by certified guides or instructors, with rental gear and transportation options.

Training Courses

PADI courses from beginner to instructor are run year-round, with strong focus on drysuit, rescue, and specialty programs for local BC diving, all using in-house pool and ocean access.

Accommodation

No on-site accommodation; divers can request info about nearby hotels and hostels in Kitsilano or arrange their own.
